Hydrotherapy, also known as the “water cure” is a type of treatment that uses water for pain relief, rehabilitation, exercise, and relaxation. Hydrotherapy is particularly beneficial for people rehabilitating from injury or surgery, this is because the buoyancy of water reduces weight-bearing stress on the body. Hydrotherapy is also beneficial for improving circulation, decreasing swelling, improving balance, strengthening the body, and stabilizing muscles. What can you expect? At Joint Venture, an initial exercise physiology consult incorporates a screening and interview process to ascertain medical history and goals, followed by education on how exercise prescription can benefit aspects of your health.
